Licensing & Use¶

Assistant Engine Community Edition is open source under AGPL-3.0.
Pro, Team, and Enterprise add features are commercial.

- Dual licensing: A commercial license is available for companies that cannot adopt AGPL or need Pro/Enterprise features.
Editions¶

Community (Open Source — AGPL-3.0) Fully open source. Use, modify, self-host, and redistribute under AGPL-3.0.

Pro (Commercial, Closed Source) Adds advanced tools, integrations, and support. Distributed as binaries/private NuGet under a commercial EULA.

Enterprise (a) Commercial / OEM (Closed Source): customization, private hosting, redistribution/white-label rights, SLAs/indemnities. (b) Enterprise Support for AGPL (Open Source): you run the OSS core under AGPL; we provide SLAs, consulting, and optional contract work. Closed-source rights only apply if you also license the commercial add-ons/OEM.

AGPL duties = keep notices, state changes, and provide complete corresponding source (incl. for network use under §13).
Trademarks (name & logos) are not licensed by AGPL. White-label/OEM requires Enterprise.
Commercial licensing — when to choose Enterprise¶
Choose Enterprise if you need team software (identity, roles, audit, policies, private updates) or want custom features/contract work (bespoke integrations, connectors, hosting, SLAs).

Trademarks & Branding¶
“Assistant Engine” names and logos are trademarks of Assistant Engine Ltd.
They are not licensed under AGPL. You may reference the name factually, but you may not use our logos or present your fork as affiliated. See TRADEMARKS.md.

Report vulnerabilities to [email protected] with steps to reproduce. We’ll acknowledge promptly and credit reporters unless you request otherwise.
